Everyone knew Jalen Brunson was an elite point guard, but his explosive rise this season has surprised many.
Building on last year’s leap, Brunson has taken his game to another level. He made his first All-Star team this season and led the New York Knicks to the Eastern Conference’s second seed, averaging 28.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 6.7 assists per game on 47.9% shooting.
The playoffs haven’t slowed Brunson down. He’s currently averaging 35.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 9.0 assists per game, powering the Knicks to a 4-2 series win over the Philadelphia 76ers.
Now, Brunson’s impact isn’t lost on former Knicks defensive forward Charles Oakley. Despite Brunson only being with the Knicks for two seasons, Oakley believes he’s already the greatest Knicks player since Walt Frazier.
“Somebody gonna say – what about Patrick and Carmelo? Ok, they didn’t do this.”
