In a display of offensive prowess that will be etched in the annals of NBA history, the Indiana Pacers set a new playoff record for the highest shooting percentage in a game. Their remarkable performance in Game 7 against the New York Knicks not only secured them a victory but also a place in the Eastern Conference finals.

The Pacers, who have been known for their potent offense throughout the season, took their game to an unprecedented level. They shot an astonishing 67.1% from the floor, surpassing any team’s shooting performance in NBA playoff history. This feat was even more impressive considering the high stakes of the game and the pressure of playing on the road at the Madison Square Garden.

Tyrese Haliburton led the charge with 26 points, but it was a collective effort that propelled the Pacers to a 130-109 victory. The team’s synergy was evident as they made 29 of their 38 shots in the first half, achieving a shooting percentage of 76.3%, the highest in a postseason half since detailed play-by-play records began in 1997.

The Pacers’ historic offense was not just about one or two players; it was a testament to their depth and teamwork. Players like Pascal Siakam and Aaron Nesmith stepped up, each contributing 20 points and 19 points respectively, with Nesmith going a perfect 8-for-8 from the field. This level of accuracy and efficiency is what every team aspires to, but only the Pacers have managed to achieve in the playoff crucible.

The Knicks, despite a valiant effort and a playoff career-high 39 points from Donte DiVincenzo, could not withstand the Pacers’ relentless attack. The loss of key players to injuries, including Jalen Brunson’s fractured hand, undoubtedly affected the Knicks’ ability to compete at their highest level.

As the Pacers advance to face the top-seeded Boston Celtics, they carry with them not only the confidence of a series win but also the knowledge that they have made history.
