The Los Angeles Lakers are expected to add some pieces this offseason, with Trae Young emerging as a potential target. The Atlanta Hawks point guard averaged 25.7 points, 2.8 rebounds and 10.8 assists per game on 43.0% shooting from the field this recent season.
The idea of Young joining the Lakers isn’t new. Rumors about the Lakers potentially acquiring the Hawks point guard circulated even when Russell Westbrook was still on the team. Given the instability in the Atlanta, the Lakers may have another chance to steal him.
Many fans are excited about the possibility of adding Young. However, Miami Heat veteran Udonis Haslem opposes this move. He believes the Lakers should stick with D’Angelo Russell, arguing that Russell is a better player than Young.
“Hell no, I don’t like that. If you want Trae Young, then just keep DLo. That’s 19 points a game right there on 47% shooting and 41% from 3. He may not be a great defender but he forsure as hell better than Trae.”
Zach Lowe proposes the Lakers go after Trae Young.
