Unlike in NBA regular season or playoff games, players get to collect 10 personal fouls before being ejected in the NBA Summer League. The idea for the 10 foul limit is to allow players the opportunity to develop and play longer, which the Summer League is basically there for.

But on this day in 2006, the Toronto Raptors’ No. 1 overall pick Andrea Bargnani made NBA history, when he became the first player ever to foul out of a Summer League game.

It only was Bargnani’s second game with the Raptors and he finished the game against the Sacramento Kings with 12 points, two rebounds and 10 fouls and two rebounds in 28 minutes.
