While Bronny James enjoys the perks of being LeBron James’ son, he also faces constant criticism because of it. The 19-year-old rookie is determined to make his own legacy, but everything he does is under a microscope.
An underwhelming freshman year and a health issue didn’t prevent Bronny from getting drafted in the NBA. However, being drafted by his father’s team, the Los Angeles Lakers, has undeniably intensified the scrutiny.
These factors combine to make Bronny arguably the most criticized rookie in the NBA. Despite this, Bronny seems to be taking it all in stride. According to LeBron, Bronny doesn’t care about the criticism at all.

“He doesn’t care. I actually care a little bit. When I came in [as a rookie], I wanted people to like me, and some of the things that people were saying about me kind of bothered me early on in my career. … He doesn’t give a f—. “He does not care about nobody. He doesn’t even listen to that stuff. He’s like the coolest. He’s like the complete opposite of his dad. His dad will say something [to address the critics]. Bro does not care. … Everything that’s being said about him, he really does not care.”
