John Wall might be currently out of the NBA, but he’s still making waves on social media, largely due to his extensive interviews. A notable instance was when he engaged in a game of “Start, Bench, Cut” between fellow point guards Stephen Curry, Kyrie Irving and Damian Lillard.
In this game, answers can be all over the map depending on personal preference or interpretation of the rules. Some prioritize accomplishments, while others consider playstyle or other factors. Wall’s answer was no exception.
Drawing from his personal experience playing against these point guards, Wall’s decision to not automatically select Curry, widely considered as the best point guard of this generation, as the top pick got more people buzzing.
“I’ve got to start Kyrie, bench Steph, and trade Dame. Outside of D-Rose, Kyrie is the hardest person I’ve ever had to guard, bro. He has every shot in the book and makes shots like he’s 6’6” or 6’7.”
