In a recent episode of ESPN’s “First Take,” Stephen A. Smith didn’t hold back his criticism of Carmelo Anthony’s controversial statement regarding his Olympic gold medals and NBA championship rings.

Anthony, a ten-time NBA All-Star and one of the most prolific scorers in basketball history, stated that he wouldn’t trade his three Olympic gold medals for an NBA championship ring.

Smith, known for his outspoken and often polarizing opinions, took issue with Anthony’s stance. He argued that this was the most ridiculous statement he’s ever heard Anthony say.

“That is maybe the most ridiculous comment I’ve ever heard come out of his mouth. And everybody knows who much I love my man Melo. I love him to death. I couldn’t believe he said something so utterly ridiculous….”
