Lonzo Ball has been a ghost on NBA courts for far too long. The Chicago Bulls point guard is still working his way back from a nagging injury, targeting a long-awaited return in the 2024-25 NBA season.
Drafted second overall in the 2017 NBA Draft, Ball burst onto the scene with a ton of type. People thought he’d be a star by now, but things haven’t quite clicked yet, and the 26-year-old point guard knows it better than anyone.
During a recent interview, Ball reflected on how injuries have thrown him off the rack, but what really stood out was his claim that he was the best point guard in the NBA a month before the COVID-19 pandemic temporarily shut down the 2019-20 NBA season.
“Every time I catch my stride, something goes wrong. That month before COVID, if you ask me, I think I’m the best point guard in the league.”
