In an emotional revelation, Oklahoma City Thunder’s rising star, Chet Holmgren, shared his thoughts on the recent trade of his teammate, Josh Giddey, to the Chicago Bulls. Holmgren’s reaction, expressed during an appearance on Paul George’s podcast, “Podcast P,” was raw and heartfelt.

“I was f***ing hurt when I saw that Giddey wasn’t going to be on our team anymore,” Holmgren admitted.

Holmgren and Giddey, both key players for the Thunder, developed a strong bond over their time together. Giddey, who was drafted by the Thunder in 2021, quickly became an integral part of the team’s core, averaging 12.3 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 4.8 assists last season. His departure marks a significant shift for the Thunder, both on and off the court.

The trade, which saw Giddey move to the Bulls in exchange for Alex Caruso, was part of the Thunder’s strategy to bolster their roster for future success. While Holmgren expressed his excitement about Caruso joining the team, his loyalty and affection for Giddey were evident.

“We all rock with him. That’s our dog. Still is. He’s gonna go do great things in Chicago,” Holmgren said.

As the Thunder prepare for the upcoming season, Holmgren is adjusting to the new team dynamics. The addition of Caruso is expected to enhance the Thunder’s defense and overall performance. Meanwhile, Giddey’s performance in Chicago will be closely watched to see how he adapts to his new environment and role.
