As a new strategic partner of the Xcalibur Foundation, OL Consult is investing in the Basket4all program and the Talent Academy. The company founded by Chekinah Olivier thus promotes the values of education, living together and surpassing oneself, on and off the court.
After half a year of work, the Talent Academy is beginning to bear fruit in Kinshasa (Democratic Republic of Congo). Launched in January 2024, as part of the Basket4All program, after a detection carried out in October 2023, the Talent Academy now has more than thirty young players aged 12 to 16. These promising young people receive daily training in sports skills and social values. The socio-sports basketball academy, created by the Xcalibur Foundation, can now count on a new partner.
The Xcalibur Foundation has recently signed a collaboration agreement with OL Consult, a consulting and investment firm, which is joining the Basket4All program by providing financial support in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), the country of origin of its founder, Chekinah Olivier. “The objective is the social and sporting development of young Congolese people,” states the press release. OL Consult thus wants to reach “the most vulnerable areas to change lives through sport ».
Chekinah Olivier and the youth development in Kinshasa
In concrete terms, the program combines sport and education. “In addition to sports and social training, the Talent Academy also cares about the physical well-being of its participants. Awareness-raising, personal development and awareness of social work in schools in vulnerable neighborhoods in Kinshasa are on the menu to complement the work of the Talent Academy,” says the press release. Three coaches and a social worker provide advice to the young talents.
Chekinah Olivier, CEO of OL Consult, has always been involved in social work, particularly in the Democratic Republic of Congo. “OL Consult demonstrates a strong commitment to youth development in Kinshasa through its collaboration with the Basket4all program, by providing financial resources and support in planning its activities,” says the businessman. OL Consult, alongside the Xcalibur Foundation, helps create a space where young people can grow, learn and aspire to a better future.”
Bringing the best values and sport across the DRC
OL Consult is an investment consulting and assistance company that supports companies and individuals who wish to invest in the Democratic Republic of Congo. By attracting investors, OL Consult and its founder, Chekinah Olivier, have always shown their desire to help the country’s economic development, while reducing unemployment and improving the daily lives of Congolese citizens. “OL Consult shares the values of the Xcalibur Foundation, which launched the Talent Academy as part of the Basket4all program almost a year ago to bring the best values and sport across the DRC”, says OL Consult.
Basketball is one of the most popular sports in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Many young Congolese are now attracted by the careers of several stars of the courts, including Dikembe Mutombo, Didier Mbenga, Serge Ibaka and Bismack Biyombo. But in this African country, basketball is above all a vehicle for bringing young people together and allows them to be supervised, to be united and to open themselves up to many challenges.
