In the age of social media, where instant communication is the norm, it’s surprising to see how many unread messages some people accumulate. Recently, NBA stars Zion Williamson and Paolo Banchero gave fans a glimpse into their personal lives by revealing the number of unread messages on their phones, and the numbers are astonishing.
During a recent video for Overtime, New Orleans Pelicans star Zion Williamson and Orlando Magic’s Paolo Banchero, along with other NBA stars like Luka Doncic and Jayson Tatum, were asked to show how many unread messages they had. The results were both amusing and eye-opening.
Zion Williamson revealed that he has 655 unread messages. Laughing, Williamson admitted,
“I am always in the triple digits. There was a time where I kind of took pride in not seeing any number there. But after a while, you get so many group messages and stuff, it’s hard to keep up”.
Paolo Banchero, on the other hand, had an even more staggering number. The young star, who is not used to texting much, revealed that he has 2,353 unread messages. Banchero confessed,
“I tell people all the time, I’m a bad texter. If you want to really get ahold of me, you probably gotta call me”.
This phenomenon highlights the challenges young stars face in balancing their professional commitments with personal communication. With packed schedules filled with practices, games, and media appearances, it’s no wonder these athletes struggle to keep up with their messages.
While Luka Doncic didn’t reveal his exact number of unread messages, Jayson Tatum shared that he only had 57 unread messages, a relatively modest number compared to his peers.
“How many unread text messages do you have?”
Paolo Banchero: “2,353… I tell people all the time I’m a bad texter. If you want to get ahold of me you probably have to call me.” 🤣
