The two basketball legends share a storied history, having played together for the Miami Heat from 2010 to 2014. During their time together, they led the team to four consecutive NBA Finals appearances and secured back-to-back championships in 2012 and 2013.
Wade, who was drafted by the Heat in 2003, is widely regarded as the franchise’s greatest player. He played a pivotal role in bringing the team’s first NBA title to Miami in 2006 and went on to win two more championships alongside LeBron and Chris Bosh. Wade’s contributions to the team and the sport have earned him numerous accolades, including being named the NBA Finals MVP in 2006 and having his jersey retired by the Heat in 2020.
The statue, created by the renowned Rotblatt Amrany Studio, will be placed at the Kaseya Center’s West Plaza. The unveiling ceremony promises to be a grand event, with Wade expected to be joined by Heat luminaries such as Pat Riley and Erik Spoelstra, as well as a special live performance by Rick Ross and Nino Breeze.
