Jonathan Kuminga is still working out the kinks in his perimeter game, but his overall game is surely coming along nicely. Last season, Kuminga made noticeable progress, upping his averages to 16.1 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game on 52.9% shooting from the field.

With Kuminga set to take on a bigger role this season, the timing couldn’t be better, especially with Stephen Curry needing more help on the offensive end. And although extension talks with the young forward recently stalled, the Warriors have not lost confidence in his development.

Kuminga’s jump last season is just the beginning, and there’s a belief within the organization that he has a lot of room for further growth. For the Warriors, they envision the 22-year-old forward to mirror the growth of Kawhi Leonard, Pascal Siakam and Jaylen Brown.

Per ESPN

“Kuminga believes in his talent and ability to progress into a star in the league, and the Warriors have seen statistics that measure his growth similarly to the early years of the Clippers’ Kawhi Leonard, Indiana’s Pascal Siakam and Boston’s Jaylen Brown.”
