On this day 34 years ago, the Phoenix Suns delivered an unforgettable performance, routing the Denver Nuggets 173-143 in a game that would go down in history. The Suns’ offense tied the record held by the 1959 Boston Celtics for the most points scored in a non-overtime game.

The game, played on November 10, 1990, at the Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum, saw the Suns dominate from start to finish. The Suns’ offensive prowess was on full display as they scored a remarkable 107 points in the first half alone, breaking the previous first-half record of 90 points set by the Nuggets just three days earlier in their 161-153 loss to the San Antonio Spurs.

Led by their dynamic duo of Tom Chambers and Kevin Johnson, the Suns put on an offensive clinic. The 173 points scored by the Suns tied the record set by the Boston Celtics in 1959, when they defeated the Minneapolis Lakers 173-139.
