The incident began midway through the third quarter when Hardaway caught an inadvertent elbow to the face from Heat center Bam Adebayo while defending a drive.
Later, as he attempted to take a charge against Tyler Herro, Hardaway’s head slammed hard onto the court. The impact left him visibly in pain and bleeding, prompting immediate attention from the Pistons’ medical staff.

Despite the alarming nature of the injuries, initial CAT scan results were negative, and Hardaway received stitches for his wounds. However, the team has not yet provided a specific timeline for his return, as they will be monitoring him for concussion symptoms and ensuring a full recovery.
Before the injury, Hardaway had contributed 11 points in 19 minutes, showcasing his scoring consistency that has been a key asset for the Pistons this season . The Pistons, now holding a 5-7 record, will face the Milwaukee Bucks next.
