Jimmy Butler returned Monday after missing four games with a sprained right ankle, and he didn’t disappoint. Facing the Philadelphia 76ers, Butler posted 30 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists on 66.7% shooting from the field, carrying Miami to a 106-89 win.
For the Heat, Butler’s comeback couldn’t have been any better, but for the Sixers, it was a night to forget. Blowing a 19-point first-half lead to drop to 2-11 for the season, Philadelphia’s campaign has turned into a masterclass in finding new ways to frustrate everyone involved.
But leave it to Joel Embiid to pivot from the madness, giving props to his former Sixers teammate. Highlighting Butler’s all-around brilliance that dismantled the Sixers in this matchup, Embiid called the Heat superstar the best player in the NBA.
“Jimmy does everything. Scoring, passing the ball, commanding while being on the floor. Both sides of the floor, one of the best players in the league. Probably top five. Probably the best actually. Best player in the league.”
