In a light-hearted moment following the Milwaukee Bucks’ win over the Chicago Bulls, head coach Doc Rivers brought some humor to the post-game press conference. When asked about the Bucks’ record of 4-1 in their last five games, Rivers interjected, “5-0.” He then added with a smile, “They can’t fine me twice.”

Rivers’ comment drew laughter from the media and fans alike, as it referenced a previous fine he received from the NBA for a comment made during a game against the Charlotte Hornets last week, that ended on a controversial note when a referee made a wrong decision that affected the outcome.
During the final seconds of said game Giannis Antetokounmpo was called for a foul that the referees later admitted was incorrect. Hornets’ LaMelo Ball made the resulting free throws to secure a 115-114 win for Charlotte.
Rivers had criticized the officiating after the game, arguing that Antetokounmpo didn’t commit a foul and that Ball simply slipped. Despite the referees agreeing with Rivers’ assessment in a postgame review, he was fined $25,000 for his public comments.
The Bucks’ impressive run, including their latest victory, has been a bright spot for the team as they continue to build momentum.
