2015, 2017, 2018, and 2022 – Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and teammates won four NBA championships together and became a dynasty.
By winning the 2022 title, the Dubs also kept one of the weirdest, yet funniest streaks alive – the Kendrick Lamar streak.
Whenever Kendrick releases a new album, the Warriors win the NBA Championship:
In 2015, Kendrick Lamar released ‘To Pimp A Butterfly’ in March, the Warriors were champions in June. In April 2017, Lamar dropped ‘DAMN’, later that June… a Warriors championship. 2018? Lamar released the Black Panther soundtrack in February – the Warriors went for title No.3. Then, 2022, after a three-year long hiatus, Kendrick came back with ‘Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers’ in May, and the Warriors also came back with title numero four…
What a streak!
Yesterday, the rap superstar once again surprised his fans with the unannounced release of his sixth studio album, “GNX”. The album, which features 12 new tracks, is Lamar’s first full-length release since his 2022 album “Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers.
Now, while it has since been the actual calendar year and not only the season, it remains to be seen that if it also counts towards the Warriors-Kendrick streak. However, the way the Warriors have come out of the gates, currently leading the Western Conference, Curry and Green might very well be adding ring number five to the collection.
