Martell Webster, who celebrates his 38th birthday today, was the 6th pick of the 2006 NBA draft, becoming one of the last ever high school players to be chosen in an NBA draft.
Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to live up to having been a lottery pick – still, he’s had a pretty decent career with stops in Portland, Minnesota and Washington.
One of his most memorable NBA moments however, gave him the nickname “The Mathematician”. In a game against the Denver Nuggets, with 4.9 seconds of overtime left and his team down by 3 points, Martell Webster forgot how to count and went in for a dunk!
One of the most boneheaded play in NBA history.
