Damian Lillard found himself in disbelief after learning that Kenny Smith lost a free throw competition to Stephen A. Smith. The contest, which took place before the Emirates NBA Cup semifinal games, ended with Stephen A. Smith emerging victorious with a score of 3-1.
The Inside the NBA crew organized the free throw contest, with Stephen A. Smith challenging Kenny Smith from the foul line. Despite Kenny’s impressive career shooting percentage of 82.9%, he struggled in the contest, shooting with his non-dominant left hand. Stephen A., who trained with renowned shooting coach Lethal Shooter, managed to secure the win.
When Ernie Johnson Jr. broke the news to Lillard after the Bucks’ victory over the Atlanta Hawks, Lillard’s reaction was one of disbelief and disappointmet.
“Please don’t tell me he lost to Stephen A,” Lillard exclaimed, visibly upset by the outcome.
Kenny then joked that he would use his right hand and three fingers in a rematch, and defended his performance.
“Every head must bow. It was too big a handicap shooting left-handed,” Kenny said, adding humorously, “So if I do it again, I’ll use my right hand, but I want to use three fingers”.
