During the Detroit Pistons’ 105-96 victory over the Orlando Magic on New Year’s Day, Jaden Ivey sustained a severe leg injury that left fans and players visibly shaken.
With just over 10 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter and Detroit leading 84-79, Ivey and Magic guard Cole Anthony collided while diving for a loose ball. Anthony’s momentum carried him into Ivey’s planted leg, causing Ivey to fall to the floor in obvious pain. He immediately grabbed his left leg and remained on the ground as players and medical staff from both teams rushed to his aid.
