The Phoenix Suns made waves on Monday after it was reported that Bradley Beal would come off the bench, something he hadn’t done in nine years. Despite the unexpected move, Beal delivered with 25 points in a win against the Philadelphia 76ers.
The decision has sparked speculation about whether it’s a new strategy to better integrate Beal and turn things around, or a signal that the team may be ready to part ways with him. With Beal’s fit being a topic of concern and trade rumors continuing to build, including talk of Jimmy Butler joining the Suns, many believe the latter is becoming more likely.
Still, any potential deal involving Beal depends on his no-trade clause. The veteran guard holds the power to veto any trade, meaning the Suns need his approval to move him. According to John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM, Beal would only agree to a move to a few select teams, including the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, and Denver Nuggets.
“As for Beal the no-trade looms large. He could have went to Milwaukee before he ended up in Phoenix but that was turned down. Have heard he would waive no trade for LA, Miami, Denver but I do believe there are a few others that he could ultimately decide work for him.”
