Trae Young delivered an unforgettable moment with a 49-foot buzzer-beater to secure a 124-121 Hawks victory over the Utah Jazz.
The shot, taken from beyond the halfcourt line, was nothing short of miraculous and has already been etched into NBA history as one of the longest game-winning buzzer-beaters ever.
The game was neck-and-neck, with the Jazz tying the score at 121-121 with just four seconds remaining, thanks to a clutch 3-pointer by Collin Sexton. It seemed like overtime was inevitable until Young took the inbounds pass, dribbled up the court, and launched a shot from just inside the halfcourt line. The ball sailed through the air and swished through the net as time expired, sending the Delta Center crowd into a frenzy.
Young’s incredible shot capped off a stellar performance, finishing the game with 24 points and 20 assists, showcasing his all-around brilliance. His teammates, including Clint Capela with 18 points and De’Andre Hunter with 17, also contributed to the Hawks’ balanced attack. On the other side, Lauri Markkanen led the Jazz with a season-high 35 points.
The Hawks had been on a three-game losing streak, and this victory was a much-needed boost as they continue their road trip.
