The Milwaukee Bucks took a 140-106 beating from the New York Knicks on Sunday, marking their second defeat to the Knicks this season. The defeat leaves the Bucks without a win against any of the East’s top three teams, the Knicks, along with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics.
However, Bucks head coach Doc Rivers has seen enough to know that regular season doesn’t always define a team. Speaking about his team’s struggles against these top teams, Rivers trusts the Bucks to handle business when it counts, saying they are capable of beating those same teams in a playoff setting.
“We know in the playoffs you play those same teams, and you can beat those same teams,” Rivers said. “They’ve (Knicks) beaten us pretty soundly both times, so there’s something there, but we feel comfortable against anybody.”
Doc Rivers on losing to top teams including Knicks: “Coaches laugh at that––I’m being honest––we know…playoffs…we can beat those same teams…Knicks have kicked our butt 2x…but we feel comfortable vs anybody…But…they’ve beaten us pretty soundly…so there’s something there…” pic.twitter.com/BxhRXUO5RB

The Bucks started the season slow but have picked up steam, winning the NBA Cup along the way. They are currently 20-17 and sitting as the sixth seed in the East, working to keep their groove alive heading into the second half of the season.
