Victor Wembanyama and Chris Paul of the San Antonio Spurs extended a heartwarming gesture to bring a smile on the faces of JJ Redick’s children, Knox and Kai, who lost their home in the recent Los Angeles wildfires.
After the Spurs’ game against the Los Angeles Lakers Wembanyama and Paul signed their game-worn jerseys and gave them to the Reddick kids.

The wildfires had destroyed the family’s home and their cherished basketball memorabilia collection. Redick, deeply moved by the gesture, expressed his gratitude, saying,
“They’re huge NBA fans. I ran a podcast out of my home for two years, all the players would come through. They’d get either a jersey or a card signed, they lost all that… it was nice of them to do it.”

Wembanyama and Paul understood the significance of their gesture. The signed jerseys not only provided a small sense of comfort and joy to the Reddick children but also symbolized the solidarity within the basketball community during tough times.
“Basketball is more than a game. It’s a family. We look out for each other,” Paul commented.
Redick also acknowledged the support his family has received from the entire NBA community.
“The outpouring of love and support from everyone has been overwhelming. We are incredibly grateful to Victor, Chris, and the entire Spurs organization for this touching gesture,” Redick said.
As the Reddick family continues to rebuild their lives after the devastating wildfires, gestures like these from the NBA community provide hope and encouragement.
