Damian Lillard stood up for his fellow NBA veteran, James Harden, against internet critics who don’t watch the games. The Milwaukee Bucks’ star guard lashed out at those who have been quick to dismiss Harden’s capabilities and contributions, especially after Harden’s stellar performance against the Bucks.
Harden led the Los Angeles Clippers to a decisive 127-117 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks, scoring an impressive 40 points, along with five rebounds and nine assists. This marked Harden’s third 40-point game of the season and his 104th career 40-point game, making him one of the most prolific scorers in NBA history.
After the game, Lillard didn’t hold back when addressing the criticism often aimed at Harden.
“I think the era we’re in right now, you’ve got people on the internet, in the media, and on TV that don’t watch games,” Lillard said. “They make it appear like guys can’t get it done anymore. And you see a guy like Harden come out and get 40… It’s a reason he’s one of the greatest players to play the game. You’ve got to respect it and just understand that he’s capable of having these types of games,” he added.
Lillard’s comments resonated with many fans and players alike, shedding light on the broader issue of how players are often unfairly criticized by those who don’t fully follow or understand the game.
