In his post-game press conference following the NBA All-Star Game, Golden State Warriors’ superstar Stephen Curry provided a hilarious perspective on his career achievements.
When a reporter pointed out that Curry “surprisingly” only has 11 All-Star appearances to his name, Curry’s response was both candid and amusing.
“Dang, your expectations are insane,” Curry said with a laugh.
The comment immediately lightened the mood, and the exchange continued with a question about whether Curry hopes to extend his career to accumulate more All-Star caps.
“Any time you get acknowledged in this way is important,” Curry responded thoughtfully. “Bron has got 21 or something? KD has got probably 16, 15, something like that.”
Reflecting on his own journey, Curry continued to expressed a sense of gratitude;
“It’s wild to think about where I came from, that that is something that you’re like, I’m surprised you only have—I haven’t heard ‘only 11’ in my entire life, so I appreciate that,” he said with a smile.
Curry’s path to the NBA has been nothing short of extraordinary. From his standout college career at Davidson to becoming a two-time MVP and leading the Warriors to multiple championships, Curry has not only solidified his place as one of the greatest players of his generation, but also among the greatest of all-time.
