In a recent episode of The Draymond Green Show, Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green surprised his former teammate Kevin Durant with a confession that left Durant himself amused.

During their conversation, Green revealed that he had secretly kept the basketball from the game in which Durant broke the all-time USA scoring record.

“I got a secret to tell you, but if I tell you this secret… you can’t do nothing about it,” Green teased Durant on the podcast. “I got the ball from when you broke the USA scoring record.” Durant, taken aback, responded with a laugh, “Why do you have that? Dawg, that’s crazy!”

Green went on to explain how he ended up with the historic ball. After the game, the ball was supposed to be handed to Durant as a keepsake. However, Durant had left it unattended, and Green decided to hold onto it.

“They were like, ‘KD, that’s your ball,’ and then you left it sitting somewhere. I was like, ‘He doesn’t want this ball, I’m going to save this,’” Green recounted.

Durant, now a member of the Phoenix Suns, took the revelation in stride, joking that he knew the ball was safe in Green’s possession. Green even added that he had kept the ball in pristine condition and only needed Durant’s signature to complete the memento.

“I’m not going to sell it, but I would love your signature,” Green said.
