Shai Gilgeous-Alexander continues to cement his place among the NBA’s elite with a historic achievement that puts him in rarefied air. Last night, the Oklahoma City Thunder superstar became just the fourth player in NBA history to record 65 consecutive games of 20+ points in a single season. Joining the likes of Michael Jordan, Wilt Chamberlain, and Oscar Robertson, Gilgeous-Alexander’s streak is a testament to his consistency, skill, and dominance on the court.

The milestone came during the Thunder’s victory over the Sacramento Kings, where Gilgeous-Alexander poured in 32 points, further solidifying his MVP campaign. His scoring streak has been a key factor in the Thunder’s incredible season, as they currently boast the best record in the league and have won 14 of their last 15 games. Gilgeous-Alexander’s ability to deliver night in and night out has made him the centerpiece of Oklahoma City’s resurgence.

Gilgeous-Alexander’s 2024-25 season has been nothing short of extraordinary. He leads the league in scoring with an average of 32.8 points per game, while also contributing 5.0 rebounds, 6.3 assists, and 1.8 steals per game. His efficiency is remarkable, with shooting splits of 52.2% from the field, 37.0% from beyond the arc, and 90.3% from the free-throw line.

In addition to his scoring streak, Gilgeous-Alexander has set multiple records this season. He leads the league in 50-point games (four), 40-point games (12), and 30-point games (45). His consistency has been unmatched, with only one game this season where he scored fewer than 20 points—a rare off-night against the San Antonio Spurs in October.

Gilgeous-Alexander’s brilliance has propelled the Thunder to new heights. With a league-best record of 60-12, Oklahoma City has emerged as a legitimate championship contender. Despite injuries to key players like Chet Holmgren and Jalen Williams, the Thunder have maintained their dominance, thanks in large part to their MVP frontrunner.

As the playoffs approach, Gilgeous-Alexander’s historic season has positioned the Thunder as favorites to make a deep run. His ability to perform under pressure and lead his team in critical moments will be crucial as Oklahoma City looks to capture its first NBA title.
