Let’s pump the brakes on the GOAT debate between Michael Jordan and LeBron James and instead zoom in on another intriguing NBA debate between Dwyane Wade and James Harden. Two great shooting guards, but who really has the upper hand?
Right now, it wouldn’t be even surprising if Wade remains the popular choice. After all, he has five NBA Finals appearances, three rings, an NBA Finals MVP and a regular season MVP. Harden doesn’t have that kind of championship hardware, but there’s still something special about him that draws some people to favor him.
For instance, Patrick Beverley, who never shies from stirring the pot, is siding with Harden. Harden’s ability to play like a star at age 35 while helping drive the Los Angeles Clippers into the playoff race is exactly what Beverley points to in his case.
“I’ve seen the comparison with James Harden and D-Wade,” Beverley said. “While I’m taking James Harden over D-Wade, it’s only because longevity.”
