NBA star Anthony Edwards recently became the subject of widespread rumors regarding an extraordinary personal decision. Reports circulated claiming that the Minnesota Timberwolves guard allegedly paid $1,080,000 in child support upfront, covering 18 years of payments in a single lump sum. The story quickly went viral, sparking debates about responsibility, financial planning, and the realities of life as a professional athlete.

The claim suggested that Edwards had opted for the historic payment to fulfill his obligations all at once, avoiding future legal disputes and ensuring financial stability for his child. While such a move would undoubtedly be unprecedented in professional sports, the legitimacy of the story has since come under scrutiny.

The mother of Edwards’ child, Ayesha Howard, directly addressed the rumors, denying that any such arrangement had been made. Speaking to The Shade Room, Howard stated,

“There are no court documents, motions, or proceedings that have occurred, nor have I been offered or agreed to such terms.” She also used social media to dismiss the claims, writing on her Instagram Story, “Where do these lies be coming from?”

Despite these denials, the rumor has taken on a life of its own, leading fans and media outlets to speculate about its origins.
