During a recent appearance on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast, Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown shared his awe and admiration for NBA legend LeBron James, but also raised a few eyebrows with a subtle comment that sparked conversation.

Brown described James as possessing “superpowers,” highlighting his extraordinary physical attributes and basketball intelligence.

“That man got superpowers,” Brown said. “To be able to be 6’9″… I’m 240 pounds, right now sitting here. LeBron gotta be 270… I wanna know if he got something else going on. At 40, it don’t even make sense.”

Brown’s comments toe the line between reverence and speculation. While it’s clear he sees LeBron as a physical marvel — someone whose combination of size, strength, and sustained excellence is nearly unheard of in the history of the NBA — the phrase “something else going on” left room for interpretation. Some wondered if Brown was hinting at performance-enhancing speculation — something LeBron has long denied and has never been connected to officially.

LeBron James, often referred to as one of the greatest basketball players of all time, has defied the typical aging curve in professional sports. Despite being the oldest player in the NBA, James continues to deliver elite performances for the Los Angeles Lakers. His current season averages of 24.5 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 8.4 assists per game.

Brown’s comments also touched on James’ basketball IQ, describing him as a “basketball savant” who can read the floor and act as a coach on the court.

“On top of that, the super speed, super athleticism, he got super vision at the same time,” Brown added. “See the game, super intelligent, like a basketball savant. Reads the floor and can be a coach on the floor all at the same time. Who has that?”

Whether or not there’s “something else going on,” as Brown joked, one thing is certain: At 40 years old, LeBron James is still doing things most players half his age can’t — and the league is watching.
