Kendrick Perkins Believes Giannis Antetokounmpo Trails Only Tim Duncan Among Power Forwards In NBA History

Playoffs are right around the corner, and that’s when stories get made or broken. But leave it to former NBA big man Kendrick Perkins to jump the gun and drop a take early.

While previewing the upcoming first-round matchup between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Indiana Pacers, Perkins found a way to slip in a quick Giannis take. Backing his ability to lead the Bucks, Perkins named him the second-greatest power forward in NBA history.

“In my eyes, Giannis is the second-greatest power forward of all time behind Tim Duncan.”

The spot behind Tim Duncan has always been up for debate. Giannis, Kevin Garnett, and Dirk Nowitzki have one title apiece. Karl Malone and Charles Barkley fell short of that, but their careers remain loaded with accomplishments. Put all their resumes side by side, and it’s not an easy call.

Giannis is just 30 and still smack in the middle of his prime. He might already be second on the power forward ladder or just knocking at the door. Either way, the window is still wide open for him to keep climbing. What happens in these playoffs could shift the narrative in a big way.
