The Indiana Pacers made a strong statement in their first-round playoff matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks, securing a commanding 117-98 victory in Game 1 on Saturday afternoon. Playing in front of a raucous home crowd at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, the Pacers showcased their depth and offensive firepower, while the Bucks struggled to keep pace without star guard Damian Lillard.

The Pacers sprinted out of the gates, building a 33-25 lead after the first quarter and never looking back. By halftime, Indiana had extended their advantage to 24 points, thanks to contributions from multiple players. Pascal Siakam led the scoring with 25 points, while Andrew Nembhard added 15 points, three rebounds, and two assists. Tyrese Haliburton, despite a slow start, finished with six points, four rebounds, and seven assists, orchestrating the Pacers’ offense with precision.

Indiana’s balanced attack was evident, with six players scoring in double figures and nine players contributing at least six points. Even with a cold stretch in the fourth quarter, the Pacers shot an impressive 51.9% from the field, showcasing their efficiency and versatility.

For the Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo was the lone bright spot, delivering a stellar performance with 36 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists. The two-time MVP lived at the free-throw line, racking up eight attempts in the first quarter alone. However, Milwaukee struggled to find consistent scoring outside of Antetokounmpo, with the absence of Damian Lillard due to a blood clot in his calf proving to be a significant setback.

The Bucks attempted a small-ball approach in the fourth quarter, cutting the deficit to 12 points at one stage, but the Pacers quickly regained control to seal the victory.

Game 2 is scheduled for Tuesday, April 22, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, where the Pacers will look to extend their lead. The Bucks, meanwhile, are hoping for the return of Lillard, who is expected to be cleared for action later in the series. With both teams eager to make adjustments, fans can expect another thrilling contest.
