Kevin Garnett Predicts That One Day, Thon Maker Will Win MVP
There are a lot of young players who will turn into future superstars (if they aren’t already) sooner than later, in today’s NBA.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kristaps Porzingis, Devin Booker, Karl-Anthony Towns, Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons to only name a few. The league is in for a golden generation and fans can be excited.
But Kevin Garnett’s pick for a future MVP is extremly bold, and he may be the only one with that prediction.
During an interview with Bleacher Report, KD spoke highly of Bucks center Thon Maker and how he reminded him of his young-self. Garnett not only calls Maker a future superstar, but also a future MVP.
“Thon Maker reminds me a lot of myself. He loves the game. He’s a young, exuberant athlete who has a lot of tools—he has touch; he has agility; he has really, good feet. He has a really good shot from three-point all the way up to 19 to 21 feet. He has very good bones, as we say.
Thon is going to be the MVP of the league one day. Mark it down. He has the bones. He has the appetite to be able to chase something like that.”
Maker may only be 20-years old, but he’s got a long way to go, if he wants to reach the level Garnett is predicting him to reach. This season, Maker is averaging 4.9 points and 3.1 rebounds per game.
