Gregg Popovich Praises Damian Lillard, Says He Deserves To Be An All-Star
From year to year, at least one NBA player is snubbed, or not chosen to participate in the league’s All-Star Game who truly deserves it.
In the last two years, Damian Lillard may have been the biggest All-Star snub. Lillard was an All-Star in 2014 and 2015, but only because he was a fill-in for an injured players both times. He then did not make the All-Star Game in 2016 and 2017,
It’s not that Lillard hasn’t been selected because of his skill, but simply because the Western Conference is stacked with some of the best guards in the NBA. For this year’s All-Star game, the Blazers guard has the support of arguably the best coach in the league, Gregg Popovich. Pop praised Lillard, calling him one of the best guards in the league.
“He’s a hell of a player, one of the best guards in the league. (Making All-Star team) is just very difficult to do. There are a lot of good players. He’s certainly more than deserving to be talked about in that regard.”
