Briante Weber Found Out About Memphis Signing Him On Twitter
Briante Weber has been in and out of the league for the past few years. After not being drafted in 2015, he’s worked his way into the league through great performances in the G-Leauge.
So far, Weber has played with the Grizzlies, Heat, Warriors, Hornets and Rockets, without having a key role for any team. After only playing in 13 games and not really making the Rockets roster (2-way contract) earlier this season, he signed with the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the G-Leauge, where he’s had a pretty impressive stint, averaging 14.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 2.1 steals per game.
Good enough performances to be granted another chance in the NBA. Weber was in Memphis earlier this week, preparing for a game against the Memphis Hustle of the G-League. Then, his agent called him and told him to switch hotels, the hotel where the Memphis Grizzlies were staying, as he had just been signed by them. He found out about his 10-day contract before that, on Twitter where he surprisingly read that the Grizzlies had signed him.
