NBA To Start Experimenting With Coach Challenges This Coming Season
This is a good thing for the fans, a good thing for the fairness of the game, and most certainly a good thing for coaches’ health. From this coming season on, NBA coaches might not erupt as often on the sidelines as we got accustomed to.
Starting during Summer League, the NBA will experiment with a coach’s challenge system for certain calls.
According to a memo sent to teams this morning and obtained by ESPN, the coach's challenge is likely coming to the NBA next season on a trial basis: https://t.co/h5l5Zrs9FR

According to ESPN, coaches would get only one challenge per game, even if the challenge is proven correct and they have to have a timeout remaining to use one.
If they challenged correctly, they keep the timeout, if not, they’ll lose it. Coaches can only challenge called fouls, goaltending, basket interference and plays in which the ball is knocked out of bounds.
