After 44 Years, Bill Russell Finally Accepted His Hall Of Fame Ring Yesterday
Bill Russell is undoubtedly one of the greatest player in NBA history. No one has won as many championships as Bill.
He’s an 11-time NBA champion (1957, 1959–1966, 1968, 1969), 5- time NBA MVP (1958, 1961–1963, 1965), 12-time NBA All-Star (1958–1969), 11-time All-NBA Team member, 4-time rebounding champion and a 2-time NCAA champion.
Winning is part of his DNA. He was the ultimate leader and is a true legend.
When Bill Russell became the first black player to be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1975, he neither accepted the induction, nor attend the ceremony. Russell felt like other black players had deserved to be inducted prior to him, and therefore, he boycotted his own induction.
Now, 44 years later, in a private ceremony with his family and close friends, Russell finally accepted his HOF ring, yesterday.
