Well this isn’t a story I ever thought of writing about in my life. But the Houston Rockets’ social media team does not seem to know the least thing about history and on top of that, was gullible enough to not only design an Adolf Hitler Rockets jersey, but also post it on their official account.

The Rockets original idea was pretty nice, and dubbed ‘Wallpaper Wednesday’. They were designing personalized Rockets jersey wallpapers for fans.

As you can imagine by now, this went south really, really quick, when one fan tricked the Rockets into making an Adolf Hitler jersey wallpaper.

The tweet has since been deleted, but the damage was done.

For those who are as clueless as the Rockets’ social media team when it comes to history, the number 88 correlates to HH in the alphabet (H being the 8th letter), and stands for Heil Hitler, which was part of the Nazi Salute. The Nazi Salute was a gesture that was used as a greeting. People would extend their right arm from the neck into the air with a straightened hand, while saying Heil Hitler.
