Kendrick Perkins Claims LeBron James Should Already Have Won Eight MVP Awards In His Career
Kendrick Perkins, who has made a living from being a serviceable defensive center in the NBA for 15 years, has now transitioned to being a full-time media member, working for ESPN and guesting on a variety of basketball podcasts.
The retired NBA center has always been controversial, especially on social media where he shoots his un-sugarcoated opinions.
Recently, Big Perk once again caused a big stir on Twitter, dropping a hot take about his former Cleveland Cavaliers teammate, LeBron James. In a tweet, Perkins implied that James should’ve been an eight-time MVP in his career by now.
“Hell he should have about 8 already in his trophy case if you ask me! Carry on….”

James is the pinnacle of being a valuable player and has always been a consistent basketball player, ever since coming into the league. He has shown the capability to turn a franchise around, build a winning team and make his teammates better, so it’s never new for someone to make a claim that LeBron should’ve won more than four MVPs in his career.
Perkins, however, didn’t indicate which seasons James should’ve won four more MVPs. LeBron is four-time MVP winner and finished second-place three-times in 2006, 2014 and 2018.
The Los Angeles Lakers superstar has a chance to win another MVP this year once the season resumes in late July. LeBron is averaging 25.7 points, 7.9 rebounds and a career-high 10.6 assists per game on 49.8% shooting from the field, while leading the Lakers to the best record in the West with 49 wins.
