Knicks Owner James Dolan’s Insecurity & Pettiness Reaches A Whole New Level
We all know that New York Knicks owner James Dolan isn’t exactly known as someone who appreciates criticism.
Dolan previously had fans thrown out of the arena for chanting ‘sell the team’ or other chants directed at him. The fans though, are in great company, as not only other fans have had similar destinies, but also Knicks legends and celebrities, such as Charles Oakley and Ethan Hawke.
But Dolan’s pettiness seems to reach new levels every time and it appears that he doesn’t like politicians criticizing his ownership of the Knicks either.
According to the New York Post, Dolan donated $50,000 to a Republican Political Action Committee, trying to get Max Rose out of Congress.
Rose had previously criticized Dolan and said he should sell the Knicks.
The controversial Knicks boss is pouring cash into the effort to help GOP Congressional candidate Nicole Malliotakis beat incumbent Democratic Staten Island Rep. Max Rose — all because Rose recently trash-talked his ownership of the perennially losing New York Knicks.
“Max Rose thinks he can make our team and my ownership his political platform,” Dolan wrote in a personal email to friends last week that was obtained by The Post. “I need to let him know that we will not stand for this. The best way to do this is to help his opponent. He is in a tight race for the US Congress in Staten Island. … Please join me in helping Nicole defeat Max Rose for Congress.
