Danny Green Thinks LeBron James Won’t Be There For The First Month, If The Season Really Starts December 22
At age 35, LeBron James continues to be a dominant force in the NBA. The Lakers superstar is already turning 36 this December, but his athleticism shows no significant signs of a falloff, and his performance in this year’s Finals justifies that.
While LeBron obviously is a physically gifted athlete, how he takes care of his body is ridiculously unmatched. It’s evident that it has been serving him well at this point of his career and allows him to stay at his apex for a little longer.
Could this potentially mean that LeBron might get some load management to start the season? According to his teammate, Danny Green, it may be possible that James may choose to begin this season at a later date, if the NBA decides to start the 2020-21 season on December 22.
The NBA had previously targeted Martin Luther King Day on January 18 as the opening day for the next season, but the projected value for teams and players with a December 22 start versus the previously targeted mid January date, is more than $500 million.
During his appearance on ‘The Ringer NBA Show’, Green talked about the potential early start of the season and his veteran teammates.
“Most guys, if we start December are like ‘I’m not going to be there’. It’s not like we [the Lakers] have a bunch of young guys and rookies. …
Bron has been in the Finals 10 years out of his 17 years… To have that quick of a restart, I wouldn’t expect to see him there. I wouldn’t expect him to seen him for the first month of the season.”
