Former 6MOY Eddie Johnson Believes Andrew Wiggins Is Poised For A Breakout Year In Golden State

While Andrew Wiggins is a 20 point per game scorer for his career, and has all the tools to turn his career around, the former number one overall pick is already a step behind his peers and has been underwhelming based upon his hype and expectations coming into the NBA.

As it turns out, Wiggins wasn’t the franchise cornerstone that majority of basketball fans had expected. Wiggins however still got a lot of time left to make a name for himself, but now in a more diminished role.

Playing behind Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green with the Golden State Warriors, a breakout year for the 25-year old swingman might be just right around the corner. Former 6th Man of the Year Eddie Johnson even professed that Wiggins is in the best position he could ever be in, in his entire NBA career.

“But now he’s with a group guys that’s going to teach him how to play, that’s going to show him what toughness is all about, knock him around, put him in great positions to do well. Nobody is leaving Klay, nobody is leaving Steph, he’ll be open.

“Draymond probably will average four assists just to him because everybody’s concentrating on Klay and Steph coming off killing them and this kid is going to be running right behind them getting dunks, getting layups. If he doesn’t know it, he’d better understand it. He is in the best position that he could ever be in his life.”
