Devin Booker Discloses Why Chris Paul Deserves To Be In The MVP Conversation Every Year
While this year’s MVP appears to have no overwhelming favorite to win the MVP, there are a few players who are facing an uphill climb just to get a shot as legitimate MVP contenders. One such person who belongs in this category is Chris Paul.
CP3 is averaging 16.0 points, 4.6 rebounds and 8.7 assists per game on 48.6% shooting from the field this season. His counting stats may not be as dazzling, but the proof is in the pudding; Paul has made every team he’s been on better, including this year’s Phoenix Suns who are now the second best team in the Western Conference after missing the playoffs last season.
Considering that Paul isn’t being seriously considered for MVP despite the team’s turnaround, Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker decided to step up for his teammate and explained why CP3 deserves to be in the MVP conversation not just this year but in every single year.
“We’ll see. I think we’ve to win more games. It’s bigger than the numbers with Chris too. People have to understand the fact it’s just isn’t his points and his assists… keeping people in line, leading every day. That alone should have him in the MVP conversation every single year.”
Devin Booker tells ESPN that the Suns are not just looking to be a feel good story and make the first or second round of the playoffs: “We're trying to win it all.”
