Isiah Thomas Destroys Charles Oakley Over His Giannis Take: “That Dude Would Dog You Every Single Time”

Giannis Antetokounmpo has already proved that he can be a dominant force without being much of a threat around the perimeter. He has been successful in his own right, establishing a career with an NBA championship, a Finals MVP, two MVP trophies, one DPOY award and six NBA All-Star selections.

However, many people remain critical of the Milwaukee Bucks superstar and appear to be less than impressed with his brand of basketball. One of those people is former New York Knicks power forward Charles Oakley.

Oakley, who’s known for his defense and toughness, understands what it was like to play in era where spacing was limited and players have more freedom to be physical. Appearing on the No Pump Fakes podcast, Oakley (ridiculously) claimed that the 27-year old Bucks champion wouldn’t have been a force back then last week.

Now, Isiah Thomas, another old head, but with a different mentality, completely destroyed Oakley’s Giannis take.

Zeke said Antetokounmpo would would obviously also be an MVP candidate in the 80s and 90s, while destroying some of the former players, and especially Oakley, for their limited skill set.

“Absolutely! Let’s be for real now… Giannis is today’s Ralph Sampson, and all these guys talking about what Giannis couldn’t play and all that… DUDE. Giannis going around Oakley, Giannis going around all of them, dunking on ’em… he’s bigger, he’s faster, he’s stronger. You can talk all that stuff, cause you don’t play no more. You can talk about all that stuff, cause you got grey hair, sitting on the sidelines, smoking cigars about what you used to do. That dude would dog you every single time when y’all stepped on the court…”
