Isaiah Thomas Says LaMelo Ball Is Going To Be The Face Of The League: “He’s Already An All-Star… He Has The Full Package”
LaMelo Ball has been one of the league’s bright spots, and he’s just getting started. After winning the Rookie of the Year award last season, the Charlotte Hornets marquee has already etched his name as an All-Star in the NBA.
This year, LaMelo has upped his averages to 19.6 points, 6.9 rebounds and 7.3 assists per game on 41.9% shooting from the field while becoming a key figure for the Hornets, who are shaping up to be a playoff contender in the Eastern Conference.
LaMelo just continues to impress everyone. On Friday, the flashy Hornets guard dropped 17/6/9 on 50% FG in a win against the New Orleans Pelicans, and earned some massive praise from two-time All-Star and teammate Isaiah Thomas in the process.
Talking about LaMelo in an interview after their win against the Pelicans, Isaiah made it clear that his Hornets teammate is trending in the right direction, claiming that LaMelo is going to be the face of the league.
Per the Charlotte Observer:
“I mean, he’s going to be the face of this league,” Thomas said after Friday night’s 142-120 win over New Orleans at Smoothie King Center. “He’s already an All-Star. Give him two or three years and he’s going to be top-five, top-10 in this league easily. He’s a special talent. He’s very young. He has great energy. His pace to the game, you can’t teach his pace. And he’s, what, 6-foot-7? He has the full package.”
