Laurence Fishburne To Portray Doc Rivers In Docudrama “The Sterling Affairs” About Donald Sterling’s Downfall As Clippers’ Owner
In 2014, TMZ Sports released a recording of a conversation between then-Clippers owner Donald Sterling and his mistress, in which he said:
“It bothers me a lot that you want to broadcast that you’re associating with black people. You can sleep with black people. You can bring them in, you can do whatever you want. The little I ask you is … not to bring them to my games”.
This thankfully led to Sterling being banned from the league for life and fined $2.5 million, the maximum fine allowed by the NBA constitution. He then also was forced to sell the team.
FX has now ordered “The Sterling Affairs”, a docudrama that will be based on the Donald Sterling era of the Los Angeles Clippers and its disgraceful end. Hollywood star Laurence Fishburne will be playing Doc Rivers.
FX has ordered THE STERLING AFFAIRS, starring Laurence Fishburne as Doc Rivers, about “the downfall of Los Angeles Clippers’ owner Donald Sterling amid the team’s drive to win a championship.”
