Shannon Sharpe Believes The Lakers Should Trade LeBron James For Kyrie Irving: “LeBron And KD. It’s Over”
LeBron James was still unstoppable at age 37 during the 2021-2022 regular season, averaging 30.3 points, 8.2 rebounds and 6.2 assists per game on 52.4% shooting from the field.
However, despite strong efforts from LeBron, the Lakers still fell short of returning to the playoffs, finishing the regular season with a 33-49 record at 11th place.
Following a mediocre season, many fans and basketball pundits have been speculating which star among the team should be traded in order to put them in a better position to win next season.
While Russell Westbrook remains the popular choice, some observers are leaning on trading LeBron considering his age and higher trade value.
As of the moment, the Lakers have shown no plans on trading the 37-year old Lakers superstar. But if ever they are willing to pull the trigger, sports analyst and former NFL football player Shannon Sharpe teased that they should trade LeBron to the Brooklyn Nets for Kyrie Irving amid recent speculations of Kyrie’s uncertain future with the team.
Bayless: “They’re thinking about trading for Kyrie with what? Are you going to trade LeBron for Kyrie or AD for Kyrie? Because it’s going to be one or the other.”
Sharpe: “Okay, do that. I like LeBron in Brooklyn. LeBron and KD. It’s over. It’d be over.”
Bayless: “Well maybe they should do that. Trade them straight up.”
