George Karl Says Trae Young Wants Coach Nate McMillan Fired, Calls Him Out For Getting Superstar Treatment

Trae Young and Atlanta Hawks head coach Nate McMillan were in the forefront of news recently after the two personalities reportedly got into a heated exchange that led to the 24-year old Hawks point guard skipping their game against the Denver Nuggets.

The drama started after Young skipped shootaround prior to Nuggets’ game to focus on receiving treatment for his shoulder soreness. However, McMillan did not approve this and gave Young two options to either come off the bench or skip the game entirely. Young then chose the latter.

Though the situation has somewhat eased up, it still has portrayed Young in a very bad light. Now, Hall of Fame coach George Karl weighed in on the situation and called out Young for wanting another coach fired and receiving some special treatment.

“I’m tired of Trae Young. I’m just tired of him. He’s already got one coach fired and now he’s trying to get another damn good coach fired…

…What’s going on behind the curtain? I don’t have any idea. I’m just tired of guys who cause the hell, and a day later they’re the victim.

Trae Young is a hell of a basketball player, a really good basketball player, but he is not a superstar, yet. He is not a special All-Star, yet. He is not a player who has proven that he is a big-time winner, yet. And now we wanna give him all those things before he’s ever gotten ’em and give him the luxury that comes with that.”
